Platelet Rich Plasma

This is a regenerative technique, appropriate for patients with early-stage alopecia, aiming to prevent intermittent or moderate hair loss. It is an innovative treatment which may be applied on its own, or combined with implants.

Its application stimulates the creation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, while also increasing the vascularisation of the hair follicles.

The use of Platelet Rich Plasma – PRP therapy consists in extracting blood samples which are later submitted to a centrifugal procedure to separate the platelet from the blood cells. The procedure lasts 9 minutes and the platelet-enriched plasma is naturally reinforced with growth factors, anti-inflammatory molecules and cell-signalling elements.

Micro-injections then apply the resulting plasma to the affected area in the scalp  Although this is a practically a painless procedure, the patient may request a local anaesthetic or cooling so as to avoid discomfort.
Patients may resume their normal day to day activity immediately after surgery.
